Tips I Like to Follow for Healthy Looking Skin

There are a lot of different things that you can do to help keep your skin healthy looking. Often we go out and spend a lot of money on items that are suppose to be good for our skin. However, there are ways that you can help keep your skin in great shape all of which are natural. Here are a few tips I always love sharing with others and I hope you’ll find them helpful for your own skin care program.


Tip One – Exfoliation by Dry Brushing

This is something that I often like to do before taking a shower. This is a natural and healthy way to get rid of some of those dead skin cells that can make your skin look dull and unhealthy. Dry brushing your skin is a way to improve the circulation to your skin and it also helps to cut down on puffiness. To do this, you will need a brush that has natural bristles.

All you need is a brush that has natural bristles that are soft and gentle for your skin. What I usually do is take the brush with me in the shower and begin at my feet and start brushing my skin in small circles always toward my heart. Then I apply very little pressure with the brush. Just make sure to avoid any broken areas or skin rashes. After I’m done with my feet and legs I then move to my arms and include brushing my fingers and always toward the heart. Next, finish by brushing my back as best I can and then around to the stomach. Once done, I just take a shower as normal. You’d be amazed at how quickly this will help you regain healthy skin.

Tip Two – Improve Digestion

Believe it or not, you need to have good digestion in order to have healthy skin. Often those who have problems with their skin will also be known to have issues with their digestion such as constipation and other issues. This is why I always like to make sure that I drink plenty of water and enough fiber in my diet. Here are just a few things that I do to help my digestion and highly recommend for others as well:


  • Add some whole grains to your diet. Brown rice is really a good choice.
  • Eat an apple each day as a snack.
  • Include cauliflower in your diet.
  • Make sure to include some high fiber snacks in your diet such as: nuts, dried fruits, and seeds.
  • Include some beans and legumes in your diet.
  • Add ground falx seeds for a great fiber boost. Just sprinkle it on your salads or a bowl of oatmeal or anything else you want.

Tip Three – Keep Moving

This sometimes can be a tough thing to do especially if you happen to work in an office. However, you can do things that can help you out. Movement and exercise is something that is extremely good for healthy skin. Here are a few things you can do that will make you feel better and your skin will benefit from:

  • Instead of staying in the office when it’s break time consider going outside and at least walk around the block.
  • If you have an office with a door and you feel the need for a little exercise, just shut the door and do a little bit of stretching.
  • I always find it a good thing to start every morning off with a little stretching, just to get an early energy boost.

Tip Four – Avoid Lots of Sugar

Many believe that sugar is actually linked to inflammation and this can directly affect the skin. So I always try to do my best to avoid lots of sugar during the day. The best thing you can do is to avoid those sugar snacks you see in the office and consider cutting the sugar you put in your coffee or tea in half. It’s better to drink more water during the day as well and eat fruits and nuts as snacks and not that candy bar that’s calling out your name.

Tip Five – Consume Good Fats

Fatty acids found in foods are essential for healthy skin and can be found in a variety of different foods we can easily add to our diets. Below are just a few items you can add to your diet that will give you good fats for healthy skin:


  • Walnuts
  • Flax seed
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Avocados
  • Salmon
  • Tuna
  • Almonds
