You Capture: America / Copper Falls pt. 1

Yay!  For once my subject matter happened naturally.  On vacation, we traveled to Copper Falls.  I think one of the great things about America is that there is still so much of it that is untamed.  Here we were, in the middle of nowhere, trekking through the woods and still surrounded by so much beauty.  So this is the side of America that I’m choosing to share.  The untamed side.

*Side note: the water is actually not muddy- it was really quite clear!  There is a tree or something that drains into the river causing it to turn the color of root beer!

I took over 300 pictures at Copper Falls so there will be a part 2 tomorrow.  Don’t worry, I will not share all 300 :)

Looks like such a magical spot. I love the colour of the water. The river in my home town is brown and dubbed ‘the upside down river’ as the silt from the bottom always floats to the top.

  27. JB says:

Breathtaking. I forgot how much I miss the forest. Rainforest is different.

  28. Suzi says:

Oh how gorgeous! Although I am now craving a root beer float!

  29. Stillmary says:

  30. Mandy @ mintnclandycreate says:

Hey! Great pictures! I REALLY love the one of the tree looking up.

I have some questions for you about your wordpress banner & layout. If you wouldn’t mind can I email you a few questions?

    Thanks!!

  31. Susan says:

Beautiful! The “root beer” water reminds me a lot of Tahquamenon Falls in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan (where I lived for a time). The brown color there is from the tannins of the cedar trees in the area. I wonder if that’s the same of these? The untamed areas of the country are so lovely! It’s refreshing to breathe the air and listen to the sounds of nature, isn’t it?!
